Wow. $89 for a small item? I hope the promoters will learn from this event not to price it this high. I doubt many people will show up. We'll see.

    DAMNHOW MUCH!?!?! (Sunday, 08 November 2009 03:39)

I agree with the prior comment, these promoters are charging way too much for Sapp. Don't they know the state of the economy? I wish them luck, but I don't think many people will show.

Sapp never signed as a player..he was quite a jerk. I'm sure the promoters had to pay a lot of money to bring Sapp and convince him to do the signing..I think it's worth it..there is a lot of time and money that goes into setting up a signing

    a regular (Friday, 08 January 2010 00:30)

wow... I remember when you could get athletes to sign your stuff for no cost. This is is really sad. What about the kids that always watched the games and wanted to be just like him (all athletes in general) that just wants to come in a meet him and get him to sign a shirt or ball? They don't have $89 dollars to spend on just meeting the guy... its so very sad of what has become of our society..
I will not be going to meet him now (I lived in the Tampa Bay area while he played for the Bucs and thought it would be cool to meet him)

as far as "constructive comments" I'd say to UDE and store is to sell the items for athletes to sign, just don't sell their signatures. And if people want the authentication then sell that too, but lots of us just want to be able to see his signature on our shirts/ball/pictures and remember and smile as we think of the day we met soandso, not turn around and sell it...

agree with "a regular". these prices are unreal. i read all these horror stories about bad experience at your signings then see how much they still want to rob us. i boycotting people who promote these expensive guys. good constructive comments from a regular.

I dont know what you are all talking about i meet with warren in 2002 and he was the nicest guy. I went down there it was expensive dont get me wrong but it was amazing he spent time with my son took a video with him. My son is 14 months old and he was dancing with him and my son got in a 4 point stance next to him and he was laughing and having a great time with my boy he was a great guy he didn't remember me but i will never forget the experience his people were amazing it was worth paying a little more just to have that experience.

The Warren Sapp signing was held yesterday and went quite smoothly. Warren was here for a little over two hours and for the fans who were here for an autograph he was able to chat a little bit and take pictures.
Because of the smaller sized crowd he was able to do this and agreed to do this before the signing took place. Again, he was the exception to the rule. As far as the pricing goes, this was a little more expensive than usual due to the fact that Warren was more expensive than the previous athletes that we've had. Unfortunately, this gets passed on to the fans. The days of old were great when you could get an autograph and handshake for free but in these types of "scheduled autograph sessions" there are fees involved. Unless you happen to encounter an athlete in passing in a "non scheduled autograph session" they expect to get paid for their signature.
We're working on more signings for this new year and are taking into account all of your suggestions. We look forward to seeing you back at the store. Bob Nevarez - Manager

I think $89 is a fair price to get a autograph of future HOF player. If you dont like the prices you dont have to buy it. The days of getting free autograph are gone not unless its a team sponsor event. Its on the player own time so they should get paid. If your job required you to promote your company on your free time and you didnt get paid would you do it for free?
